A Quick Way to Configure your DLink DAP 2610 Access Point

The DLink DAP 2610 device is an access point that is designed to be installed on indoor walls or ceilings. A dual-band wireless access point delivers a superior speed of 400 MBps and 867 MBps with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands respectively. The inbuilt beamforming technology advances the range and speed for a particular area you need to optimize by supporting many devices in real time. The Gigabit port on the backhaul enables you to enjoy a wired network too. Band steering assures superior frequency. It is a small and compact access point that can be attached directly to a wall. Thereby, it is super easy to set up and saves the hardware installation costs too.

Sustains multiple VLANs to bear upto 16 SSIDs and to advance network management. Your wifi network is more secure with WPA2 encryption. It can filter MAC addresses and split WLAN to assure network authorization. The MU-IMO technology also boosts the connection by granting access to many devices. DLink’s Nuclias Connect software brings modification, control, and comfort from small to middle-class business networks. Now we are discussing the installation guide for the DLink access point.

DLink DAP 2610 Access Point Installation and Setup

The  DLink DAP 2610 access point installation is super easy. Firstly, you need to attach the DAP 2610 to the ceiling or wall. To do it, position the mounting brackets on the wall or ceiling. Next, employ the screws available in the shipment box to attach the mounting ring to the wall. Mark the spots where you put the screws. Remove the mounting ring. Attach the ethernet wire to the DLink LAN port. Drill the holes at those spots and put plastic anchors. Now attach the access point using the screws and fasten it. The next step is to set up the access point. Check the SSID details if mentioned on the backside of the access point. However, you can set up the access point simply by chasing dlinkrouter.local from the web address. But before that, power on your access point.

Turn on the DLink Access point

You can use two tricks to turn on the DAP 2610 device. The first trick is to connect with the PoE switch. To do it, attach one end of the ethernet wire to the LAN port of DAP 2610 while the other end to the PoE port’s switch. The other trick is costly as you had to purchase the PoE injector separately. Attach one end to the LAN ports and the other to the POE injector. From the POE injector, join the adapter to the power socket.

Configure DLink DAP 2610

To do the setup and control the access point, you can employ any of the two methods. We are discussing the first one here. To begin with, access to the PC employs a DPE-101GI. Next, access the DAP 2610 from the PC. Assure your PC is set with a static IP address. Later, open the browser and type DLink default IP in the explore section. Hit enter and the login page reveals. Use the default login details as admin in both username and passphrase.

The other way of setting up the device is by joining the DAP 2610 access point as well as the PC to the same AC switch. Access the DLink 2610 from the PC. Next, launch the browser and type dap 2610 default ip address in the explore section. The DLink DAP 2610 login page shows. Use the passphrase as well as username as admin to access the page.

Review

Checked the reviews regularly and finally decided to purchase it. I grabbed this deal on sale with a price point of 119 dollars. A very good access point I installed in my room. The speed is average. Not as claimed by DLink officials. The small and compact design is a great advantage. Super easy to set up in a wall or ceiling. You can switch between the two bands as it is a dual-band access point. Other than that, it is a useless device. Stops working smoothly after 12 days of purchase. The speed of the network stucks and I am not able to stream Netflix. Finally decided to return the device. My experience using this access point is fine. I would like to suggest the users purchase a different access point than this one, if available.
